George Brown College is a diverse and welcoming community. The college first opened in 1967, with just over 2,000 students enrolled. Today there are over 31,000 full-time students at George Brown. As well as having a diverse community of students and staff, there are over 160 fantastic, full-time programs available to choose from. Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs:

 

Assist on Global Service in Canada Ltd. (Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc.) has donated funds for the establishment of the Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs. This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College in any year of study for all programs in this category

 

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

 

  • The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher

 

  • The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

 

International Centre Student Bursary

 

This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College in any year of study for all programs

 

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

International Student Leadership Award

 

The award is available to any international student graduating from their program.

International Student ESL Scholarship is awarded to a student in the ESL Program.

Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students

 

Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students. This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College who are in their 2nd Year or higher for all programs in this category

 

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

 

  • The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher

 

  • The student must be a registered domestic student

 

  • The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

 

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Certificate

 

The award is available to students in the Certificate, Post-grad program in any year of study.

 

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

 

  • Student must be an international student

 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5

 

  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

 

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Diploma/Degree

 

Academic Area has donated funds for the establishment of the Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students. The award is available to students in the Diploma or Degree program in their Second, Third, or Fourth year of study in an approved international work/study experience.

 

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

 

  • Student must be an international student

 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5

 

  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

 

Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries

 

Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries have graciously provided $100,000 (100 bursaries at $1,000 each) for International students.

 

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

 

  • Students must be registered in a full-time program

 

  • Students must demonstrate a financial need

 

Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarships

 

The Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarship is available to newly admitted students in their first year of study in any post-secondary (diploma, degree, or post-graduate certificate) George Brown College (GBC) program. Students from GBC’s academic partner institutions in the Caribbean, China, Central/South America and India are encouraged to apply.

 

Two scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded each academic year.

 

Qualifications

 

  • be an international student (required to have a valid Canadian Study Permit)

 

  • be studying in the first year of a full-time post-secondary program

 

  • possess an excellent academic record (3.0 cumulative GPA)

 

  • have demonstrated leadership in activities that have made contributions to the learning environment and participated in academic activities related to the area of study or student activities (e.g. clubs, Student Association, volunteer activities)

 

Woori Education Scholarship

 

Awarded to an international student based on academic performance and community involvement. To qualify, an applicant must:

 

  • be an international student with a valid Study Permit

 

  • be registered in a full-time diploma or degree program

 

  • have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 in at least two full semesters of consecutive study

 

  • have participated in activities that have made a contribution to other students, their Department/School and/or the College community.

 

George Brown International Scholarships And Awards Eligibility Criteria

 

The George Brown College International Awards and Scholarships 2022 are available to students based the the following eligibility conditions;

 

  • Applicants must be an international student, with a valid Study Permit

 

  • Must be able to provide records of academic excellence.

 

  • Be registered in a full-time diploma or degree program

 

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of varying between 2.5 and 3.5 depending on the scholarship/award program in consideration.

 

  • Must have participated in activities that have made a contribution to other students, their Department/School and/or the College community.

 

George Brown International Scholarships And Awards Application Process

 

George Brown College’s Awards program recognizes students in need along with those who demonstrate excellence. Scholarships, awards and bursaries assist you with the costs of your education. All you have to do is apply!

 

Important Note: Before applying for student awards for a particular term, please ensure that you are registered for the term with a full-time course load – i.e. you must have already signed up for your required classes. If you are not registered as a full-time student in a post-secondary program, you will not see any awards applications when you get to Step 3 of the application process.

 

To access the online application for student awards:

 

  1. a) Login to your STU-VIEW account.

 

  1. b) Click on the Student Awards tab.

 

  1. c) Select Apply for Student Awards.

 

You will now see the Select Aid Year and Period page.

 

  1. d) Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.

 

You will now see the Select and Application page.

 

  1. e) Carefully read the instructions shown at the top of the page.

 

  1. f) From the drop-down menu, select Student Profile.

To check the status of your application(s):

 

  • Click on the Student Awards tab

 

  • Select View My Student Awards

 

  • Select Continue

 

  • Note the status of each award
